Missions

Bethany participates with Unionville Presbyterian Church each year to alternately host a 10,000 Meal Packaging Event through this organization. Each participating church raises their share of the total cost of this event which covers the material, organization, implementation and distribution of the packaged meals. These are then sent ‘round the world to partnered charities that serve local communities. This is a budgeted mission project.

Bethany donates to this local charity with cash and food donations throughout the year. KACS runs a local food bank for low income customers as well as providing a host of other services for low-income families.

Bethany sponsors a child in need through this organization. We provide a monthly donation that funds this child's participation in the programs that Compassion International funds via local, church based relief and community support activities. (e.g. training, meals, education, social projects, health care) Our sponsored child for the past two years is a young boy named Dennis Macharia Ngugi from Kenya. In addition, our Sunday school children correspond with Dennis from time to time, and we get occasional progress reports of his well-being.

The Family Promise Program is a church – based program of sheltering homeless families. While we do not directly host the families while they are seeking permanent housing, we aid Unionville Presbyterian by helping to provide supplies, furnish and serve meals for the families and provide overnight monitors during their week-long stay ( 4 times/year) at Unionville Presbyterian. This commitment is a budgeted item for Bethany and a year long commitment of time and funds.
