Staff & Volunteers
Pastor Anne was educated through Unionville -Chadds Ford Schools and graduated from West Chester State College (now WCU). She was a long time member of the Unionville Presbyterian Church family and served there as Superintendent of the Sunday School and as Director of Christian Education from 1995-2008. She joined Bethany Presbyterian Church in 2010 and became a Ruling Elder in 2012.
Anne felt the call to enter into some sort of ministry in the summer of 2020. Sometimes the way forward is not entirely clear but the need to begin was undeniable. Beginning her seminary courses at Union Theological Seminary during the Covid-19 pandemic, she received certification as a Commissioned Ruling Elder in 2023. Additionally, Anne has taken a graduate course in Presbyterian Polity offered by Donegal Presbytery. On October 6, 2024, as part of the church's 125th Anniversary, Anne was commissioned as Bethany's CRE Pastor.
Anne's roots in Chester county are deep. Her Quaker ancestors arrived with William Penn in 1682-1683 and her family has lived in the Unionville / Gum Tree /Ercildoun area ever since. Having been raised in the tradition of the Society of Friends , she continues to hold onto their traditions of silent worship, waiting on the Holy Spirit (or Inner Light as they call it), belief in peace, compassion and gracious living.
Anne has been married to Larry for forty three years. They have two children, both of whom are married and have given them three adorable grandchildren, ages nine, seven and four. Her other interests include gardening (she is a retired Penn State Master Gardener), baking (a three-time winner of the Unionville Community Fair Apple Pie contest), reading (mysteries and science fiction) and playing the piano. She is a hopeless knitter and a Phillies/Eagles fan! Alas, Larry forever bleeds Dodger blue...
She loves family meals and picnics, her cats, Linus and Lucy, and traveling around the country with her husband.
